We spend so much of our lives trying to become something.
Trying to get somewhere.
Trying to keep up with the person we used to be, or the person we thought we would become.
And somewhere along the way, we begin to believe that getting older, being tested, or carrying a few scars means we are somehow becoming less.
But what if we have misunderstood the beauty of time?
Look at this tree.
It doesn't hide its age.
It doesn't apologise for its scars.
It doesn't try to look like a younger version of itself.
It simply stands there, completely and magnificently itself.
And I wonder…
What if the things we have lived through haven't taken our beauty away?
What if they have become part of it?
Perhaps resilience isn't about remaining untouched by life.
Perhaps it is about allowing life to shape us without allowing it to convince us that we are finished.
The baobab doesn't need to return to what it was.
It is still becoming what it is meant to be.
And so are we.
